Maybe it was the lack of sleep – at the time I created
this image my first evening in Italy I had been up for nearly
thirty-one hours and had not had anything substantial to eat
since breakfast, so it’s understandable if my judgment
was impaired. Technically, this image is a three-exposure
multiple exposure. I was working on the Ponte Vecchio and
shot the first two exposures of the Ponte Santa Trinita, flipping
the camera over between shots.. For the third exposure I turned
to shoot the bridge on which I was standing, placing it in
the center of the image. It’s an interesting interpretation,
a bit different than my collection of strictly representational
images of the Ponte Vecchio shot from almost every possible
location.
