Reflected Glory
The Ponte Vecchio from the Lungarno Archibusieri
May 24, 2007, 7:56 am

The unique design of the Ponte Vecchio, with its covered upper story permitting the ruling Medici family to cross the river staying dry and away from the not always adoring mobs, makes it a frequent photographic subject. I have been continually drawn to reflections of the Ponte Vecchio (and to other buildings along the river) as a way to express something of the essence of the relationship between the inhabitants and the river that has been a central part of their lives for centuries..
