Montefioralle
May 29, 2007, 9:47 am

While the name of the fortified hill town of Montefioralle has been corrupted from the original Monteficalle, the present name suggests a hill of flowers. Our group of photographers had had a delicious lunch in the town and after we finished, we dispersed along the street. While there are several roads and paths that lead up to the town, there is only one street in the town, making a circle that one can easily walk in five minutes. Eventually, many of us gravitated to a small piazza festooned with flowers, and spent – likely to the amusement (or bewilderment) of the inhabitants – a long time photographing them.
