This is another essential image from Crete Senesi. The scene is just a few kilometers east of San Quirico d’Orcia, along the road to Pienza. Like so many of the best photographs in Tuscany, I made this in the flat light of early morning: the long shadows add to the texture and the morning mist helps saturate the colors.
