might as well consider titling this shot, the joys of shooting
an ultra-wide – this image was created at 14mm with
a 10mm-17mm lens, hence the curvature apparent on the leftmost
buildings. The Valley of the Torbida opens up before us in
this early morning shot from the Piazza San Francesco in Montepulciano.
The domed building in the middle ground is the Tempio San
Biagio, a church built between 1518 and 1545 by the Renaissance
architect Antonio di Sangallo. In the distance lies Monte
Amiata, the highest peak in Tuscany.
