| The
rising sun has just cleared the hills east of Rocca d’Orcia
and a few vehicles inch their way north along the Via Cassia.
I set this shot carefully, positioning myself to place the
apex of the lines created by the cypress trees and the road
at the right of my picture space. There I waited until an
oncoming vehicle, headlights still on in the early light,
appeared at the apex with no other vehicles in sight. This
image is cropped down to eliminate the featureless sky and
distant mists, which added nothing to what I was trying to
portray.
