Visions Of Tuscany

I Cipressi

This image of a cypress grove in a rolling field is one of the singularly Tuscan landscapes. The best place to shoot this scene is located below a long viaduct about half way between Torrenieri and San Quirico d’Orcia and the well beaten path from a small parking area at the far end of the bridge attests to the popularity of the place. At any time of year the simple grouping of elements and colors practically guarantees a successful image. I have photographed here both at mid day and late light, and the late light, to no surprise is the best – I made this image about two hours before sunset.
