Chianti is, of course, rightly famed for its eponymous wine,
and in three weeks I believe I drank more Chianti than I had
in my previous life. What I drink I photograph (well, not
usually, but it works here) and I made numerous images of
Chianti in the glass, Chianti in casks, Chianti being toasted,
Chianti being drunk. The Bar-Ucci is the name of the restaurant
in Volpaia where I made this particular photograph. The Black
Cockerel - il gallo nero - is a symbol of the Chianti
region, but here it appears in an albino version.
Here is a toast
to all my friends on this trip! Salute!
