While "ethereal" is not often a quality associated with light, the illumination we photographers most cherish frequently possesses this very attribute. The sense of awe that one may associate with the ethereal was certainly present the moment I set my eyes on this scene, the low sun painting the breakers against the dark backdrop of an offshore islet.
