At the same time the westernmost and the youngest of all the Galápagos islands, Fernandina is the wildest and least accessible of the islands, with only one visitor site. It is still active volcanically with sulphur fumaroles dotting the flanks of the island’s lone volcano, which last erupted in 1995.
