Poppies are rank high as icons of the Tuscan countryside. While working out of Villa Rosa di Boscorotondo, as usual I was up before sunrise and on this particular morning walked the road between up toward Panzano and then back to to Lucarelli, through the valley of the Pesa. The low angle of the sun made easy work of photographing the back-lit poppies growing atop the walls bordering the road.
