in December, the sun can become hot and so some vendors erect
shelters over the street. This one not only imparted an interesting
colorcast to everything below it but gave enough shade to photograph
a scene in which the contrast would have been prohibitive. The
extension cord in the bottom right powers the boom box of a
vendor of CDs and DVDs; this enterprising young man, lacking
an electrical hookup in the street, simply ran two leads over
the bare power wires a few feet overhead, giving him all the
unmetered electricity he needed. |
