Fisheye Beach

Nikkor 16mm f/2.8, Raw capture
Nuevo Vallarta
December 29, 2006
Although the fisheye effect is not as pronounced with the APS-sized sensor in the D70 as in my full-frame film cameras, it is still very apparent in this shot made while I was seated at water’s edge on the beach at Nuevo Vallarta. This lens does not have filter threads and so I was hand-holding a polarizing filter in front of the lens. Although I was trying to be careful not to include the tips of my fingers, they showed up anyway, and so I cropped a bit off the bottom edge of the frame and did some judicious cloning to remove the last bit of the top of my fingers from the scene.
