| This
image lies, rather deliberately so. There was no storm brewing,
just late afternoon clouds gathering as they do almost daily
in the tropics. In exposing for the highlights in the distant
sun-rays, I allowed the clouds to go dark. In processing I could
certainly have double-processed the raw image, or used any of
a number of Photoshop techniques to restore the tonal balance
to what was actually present that warm, halcyon afternoon, but
chose again to preserve that extreme contrast, suggesting as
it does unease and inclemency. |
